Ανακτώντας τον έλεγχο των προσωπικών δεδομένων Οnline συζήτηση στην κοινότητα MyData Greece Πέμπτη 11/6/2020

Τα προσωπικά μας δεδομένα είναι πολλά και σημαντικά. Η αξία τους σήμερα εκτιμάται σε περίπου 10.000€/άτομο ανά έτος και αποτελεί την κινητήρια δύναμη του Διαδικτύου. Η διαχείρισή τους, ωστόσο, περιορίζεται ως επί το πλείστον σε χέρια τρίτων. Προκύπτει λοιπόν η ανάγκη για ένα πιο δίκαιο και ανθρωποκεντρικό μοντέλο διακυβέρνησης. Προς ποιες κατευθύνσεις στρέφεται η συζήτηση σε διεθνές επίπεδο; Ποιες είναι οι πρωτοβουλίες στην Ελλάδα;

Την Πέμπτη 11/6/2020 και ώρα 19:00, η ελληνική κοινότητα του MyData Global ανοίγει τη συζήτηση στο κανάλι Slack #hub-greece channel   .

MyData Community

We’ve made impact:

• MyData is in the EU Data strategy (PDF) released in February 2020, as one of the promising initiatives that “promise significant benefits to individuals”
• “Understanding MyData operators” paper was just released, as a collaborative effort of 34 experts. supported by 48 personal data operators from 15 countries
• We organised so far the most successful MyData 2019 conference had 975 participants from 46 countries, with 42% representing businesses and 58% nonprofit sector (see report)
• MyData was included in the Government Programme of Finland and in the programme of Finland’s EU Presidency period
• We were awarded the NGI Culture Award by the European Commission Next Generation Internet Initiative, where MyData was recognized as one of the most impactful European initiatives.
• The Helsinki EU office, representing 16 different cities and institutes, has called  for “the full integration of MyData principles to the relevant European policies and legislation”in its Data-agile Economy: From reactive to proactive May 2020 approach for the benefit of the citizens paper
• We’ve been featured in policy papers such as the Road to a Fair Data Economy  by the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra and Lisbon Council, and A new governance for personal data in the XXIst century by PrivacyTech and over 50 organisations from 14 countries  
• We’ve presented at events organised by e.g. United Nations, World Bank, World Trade Organisation, French National Assembly, European Commission, Korean Government, Finnish Government and in various international conferences such as RightsCon, Internet Governance Forum, European Big Data Value Forum and many more 
• Our thought leadership has informed and impacted policy on national and international level, at least in Finland, Japan, South Korea and the European Union.

We’ve grown as an organisation and gone global:

• We have an excellent strategy roadmap towards our vision in our Theory of Change 
• We’ve established the organisation and a network of 25 Local Hubs in 6 continents and 4 new Thematic Groups (A New Governance, Health, Design, Operators)
• MyData Declaration is available in 11 languages
• MyData 2015 white paper translations are available in Japanese and Korean
• We have members from over 50 countries – nearly 100 organisations and 500 individuals. In 2020, over 25 new organisations have joined. 
• Our Slack has over 2100 experts, with about 200 people active daily
